Cultural Heritage Education: cultural lectures for citizenship

Abstract
The Cultural Heritage Education is accepted as a viable route for understanding the Cultural Heritage concept, allowing for new standards for its definition and spreading of cultural manifestations. In this work we discuss an approach to stimulate understanding and preservation of Cultural Heritage, this attempt was done together with three public schools in Camposdos Goytacazes, northern Rio de Janeiro State. Theoretical background and practical results are presented and discussed.
