Privatizing difference: Egalitarian liberalism and cultural pluralism

Abstract
This article examines some of the problems that are exposed when egalitarian liberalism tries to address appropriately the challenge of cultural pluralism. Foremost, it explores the strategy of privatization defended by Barry. Subsequently, it criticizes this approach for being blind to the difference. Finally, it revises the pertinence and relevance of this rebuttal.
