Abstract

Information and communication technologies have transformed the scenarios in which we interact both locally and globally. Education has not been foreign to these, causing a radical transformation both in the scenarios and in the processes in which education is generated. Nowadays, the incorporation of networks and digital devices do not, by themselves, achieve learning, so we must reflect, in these emerging contexts, what kind of education we want. With this reference, we must rethink the methodology of distance education, already consolidated in the 60s of last century, with the objective of reflecting on its role in the panorama of the educational offer today. This means that we study in-depth this training proposal compared to others inserted in virtuality, to better assess how, why, and where we should educate in a networked society.
