Contributions of Service-Learning in higher education: perceptions of the learning acquired from the perspective of the students

Abstract

This paper offers some of the most representative learning results obtained by third and fourth year students of the Primary Education degree, with the mention in Physical Education, after carrying out a Goalball activity based on Service-Learning methodology between the universities and two entities. The main objective in this study is to analyze the students' learning contributions through this methodology. After analyzing the narratives in their reflective diaries, there are different categories that belong to two large dimensions: The learnings about the sport and the learnings in relation to the Service provided in both entities. The most relevant conclusions lead us to affirm that the learning acquired is based on experience and competence that stand out not only for their perceptions of improvement at a professional level but also in their personal and civic aspects.
