Systematic review: educational inclusion of university students in situation on disabilities in Latin America
Main Article Content
Abstract
Despite the progressive desire to implement an inclusive education in Latin America, to date there is no strong evidence that scientific contributions have been developed about the educational inclusion of university students in situation of disabilities. From this perspective and through a systematic review of 22 empirical articles, the research carried out in the region is made known. The results are grouped into four main areas of study: 1) contextual characteristics of the publications, 2) disability and higher education, 3) the difficulties in generating educational inclusion in Latin American universities and, finally, 4) the institutional challenges to promote inclusion in Latin America. The discussions allow to affirm that this topic requires greater importance and development in the educational institutions of this level. The purpose of this work is, therefore, to be an input for subsequent studies on the subject that are intended to be carried out.
