Human rights education in the curriculum reform: curriculum of history and social sciences of 2° of middle school in the unit named "Military regime and transition to democracy"

Abstract
The authors are dealing with human rights education that is been incorporated to the curriculum of History and Social Sciences of the 2° grade of the middle school in the unit named "Military regime and transition to democracy". The authors declare that the teaching of human rights is an ethical imperative, however they show also the critics and pedagogical difficulties that the teaching of recent history is facing in the Chilean context. With the purpose of answering to the many questions inquietudes and conflicts that the theme is facing, the authors are present the results of a research that have design, is in the process of been finish, that explores the ways of teaching and learning of the unit: Military regime and transition to democracy. Finally the authors are recommending a method to implement and train teachers in human rights: Protagonist research.
