Abstract

What are the ideological principles of the physical education? What are their roles? How does the selection of contents happen? Is physical education is useful and valuable for all students? These and other questions provide the framework to propose a debate on the status of physical education and their precarious legitimacy in the school system. Considering the critical tradition, the goal is to discover some of the epistemological contradictions that must withstand the technical talk to contain their meaning within the context in which it obtains its legitimacy. To cross the border of this common sense of legitimacy the author uses, as a dialectic strategy, irony and the irreverent story.
