Toward a greater permanency in the school system of the children in low-performance risk and of drop-out

Abstract
This article analyses some school and family risk factors that increase the possibility of failure at school. It is suggested that in order to improve children’s chance for a better performance at school, parents of low –income status– should assist the learning process of their children.
At the same time, through the development of the «objetivos transversales» it is possible to create at school protective factors that allow a normal development helping students to achieve a good school performance.
