The "evaluation" in texts produced by universitarian students
Main Article Content
Abstract
Taking as a starting point the recent advances of the communicative oriented text linguistics, this work analyses some critical reviews produced by university students. With the aim of accounting for the development of the "evaluation" in the text part Conclusions, first, a linguistic and textual characterization of this part of the reviews was done and, then, the introduction of value judgements and opinions in academic texts, as the ones in the corpus, were investigated. For this purpose, the cognitive notions of "balance and axiological crash" (Krzeszowski 1992) were applied to explore this dimension of the texts. The different possibilities of textual and axiological structure identified in the treatment of the "evaluative factor" contribute to the understanding of the complex relations between objectivity and subjectivity in academic texts.
