Quiñónez: poet, forgotten and born in the sea-port (regional literatures and geocultural imaginaries in Chile)

Abstract

A study which propounds an approach to aspects of Guillermo Quiñónez (Valparaíso 1889-1982)'s Balada de la Galleta Marinera (Ballad of the Seafaring Ship Biscuit) which substantiates the mode in which the local (regional) imaginary is shaped by the poet's "differential" imaginary. The research is based on a proposal of reflection about the regional "geocultural" imaginaries in connection with the hegemonic national literature.
