Mapuche public discourse: Mediated intercultural communication

Abstract
Analysis of the mapuche public discourse is carried out in this paper. Mapuche public discourse constitutes the most important intercultural discourse of the last decades through which organization leaders and other representatives of the mapuche world address society globally, to stand up for their rights, demand fulfilment of their identity though media. Thus, there is one aspect common to other types of mapuche discourse in their interaction with society -the characteristic of intercultural communication- and one specific aspect which identifies it: mediated character.
