Profile of a forest engineer

Abstract

A set of features which should characterize the forest engineer from Universidad Austral de Chile has been defined based on the opinions collected from forestry engineers working in private companies, public services and universities. Despite the differences of opinions, the personal characteristics, the knowledge, and the know how of such a professional were established. Based on this information, formulations for the design of a study plan and of teaching methodologies are proposed.
