Management of Pinus radiata D. Don plantations in Chile

Abstract

The management of pine plantations in Chile considering the objetives, the types and the criteria most frequently used for its selection, is briefly described and analyzed. The information presented here was mainly obtained from large forestry companies during 1989-90, and represents the most frequent and general characteristics of pine plantation management, leaving details applicable to particular situations aside.
