Laboratory efectivness of antistain products without pentachlorofenate
Main Article Content
Abstract
Alternatives to chemical products based on Sodium Pentachlorofenate, which have had worldwide leadership as wood preservatives against staining agents are analized. However, these products have been subject of controversy, due to the danger they pose for forest workers because of their high toxicity. In order to analyze the utilization of other products, the Disk Method technique was used. The toxicity of seven fungicide products, which do not present clored fenols, was tested against the staining organism Ceratocystis pilifera (Fries) C. Moreau acting on Pinus Radiata D. Don. A total of seven fungicides were analyzed on concentrations recommended by manufacturers.
