Susceptibility of cupressaceaus species present in Chile to Seiridium cardinale canker
Main Article Content
Abstract
In order to evaluate the susceptibility of some native or introduced Conifer species present in Chile to Seiridium cardinale, an artificial inoculation test was performed plants subject to similar field conditions.
Cupressus macrocarpa was found to be highly susceptible, while C. sempervirens, Thuja plicata, C. arizonica and Austrocedrus chilensis showed less susceptibility. On the other hand, C. lusitanica, Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, T. orientalis and Fitzroya cupressoides were found to be resistant, while C. torulosa presented the highest resistance.
