Abstract

A study on the cultivated Pinaceae in Chile is carried out. Keys, descriptions and illustrations of 7 genera and 49 taxa of productive or ornamental importance trees are presented. Pinus is the most important genus in forestry, with 24 species cultivated in the country. Less important in forestry or only ornamental value are: Abies (10 species), Picea (8 species), Cedrus (3 species), Larix (2 species), Pseudotsuga (1 species) and Tsuga (1 species).
