Abstract

The following paper deals with the crisis of meaning in culture imposed by media hegemony. Through the recognition of the fnite characteristics of the human being, culture is conceived as a "second reality" in which the temporalities that give meaning to human presence in the world are constructed. This is linked to the concepts of memory and communication mechanisms of the same process of cultural preservation. In this manner, it contrasts the link between the human being and time, from the perspective of culture with the logic of "reality" media, centered on resources, on the generation of TV audiences and consumption. This paper reports on the process of reconfiguration of society on the basis of the mediation of the technological systems that promote the leakage of the sense of humanity towards the "reality" conceived by the market.
