Abstract

The purpose of this article is to comprehensively analyze the exercise of mothering /fathering by responsible adults mothering of children and adolescents belonging to the Targeted Prevention Program (PPF) of the communes of Cerro Navia, Renca, San Joaquín, El Monte, El Bosque and Punta Arenas, from the territorial and generational dimension, considering institutional gaps, structural and gender violence. It is developed from a qualitative methodology through the in-depth interview instrument and the discussion group technique that allows contributing to the construction of a positive mothering/fathering. We found that the role of mothering and fathering is mediated by the territory, gender, life biographies and structural conditions, such as family types, education, social and economic factors, in addition to the use and abuse of new technologies.
