Perceptions of the local community about a process of heritage activation in Benito Juárez, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina

Abstract
This article presents the synthesis of a study carried out in the community of Benito Juárez, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. These are the preliminary results referred to the analysis of the perceptions that the different actors have about the local heritage, and about the participatory process that involved them after the experience of organizing an international Congress related to local heritage issues. The collecting of information focused on addressing the relationship that these groups have established with the local cultural heritage based on their active participation in this event. From a qualitative approach, organizations and groups were identified and their representatives were interviewed individually and in group (applying open and in-depth interviews). The conclusions presented here aim to address the complexity of the relationship between heritage and community in the central area of the province of Buenos Aires.
