Abstract

The tourist activity has traditionally focused on the development and consolidation of destinations usually already developed; this research aims to identify the aptitude for nature tourism of a territory which has not yet been developed. The study comes from a vision of complex systems and with this purpose it defined the Mazahua Region as a complex system, which recognizes some events that transform this system. The analysis includes the physical characterization of natural elements such as soil type, climate, or infrastructure as roads, highways and towns, among others. Multicriteria-multiobjective methodology consisting of ranking of the attributes of the territory, in this case elements of the complex system, are weighted and represented spatially. The proposal leads to generate maps of the territory with ranges of aptitude, on four modalities selected from nature tourism.
