Main Article Content
Abstract
This study, shows a General Model of Manager proposed by Spencer and Spencer (2003). In this model, that is a result of a research developed by both authors, are presented twelve competences desirable to have by Managers in a company.
Based in this model, it was designed an inquest to be applied to a group of hotel‘s managers where it was asked of assigning a level of importance to all of the competences mentionated by Spencer and Spencer (2003).
Furthermore, the inquest asked for specifically stating which knowledges or skills are more relevant for managing hotel.
The results, without doubts, constitute a development for designing professional profiles, curricula and educative methodologies, among others, in those careers forming professional skills for managing hotels in the tourist sector.
