Abstract
Ximena Alejandra Bravo Haro (Coyhaique, 1984), studied architecture in Universidad Austral de Chile (2003-2010) and completed a Master Program in Urbanism in Universidad de Chile (2012-2015), graduating with outstanding honors and as the best student of her generation. In addition, she completed a “Diploma in Urban Development” (2012), a “Diploma in Urban Development Administration and Management” (2012) and a “Diploma on Residential Habitat in Social Vulnerable Contexts” (2016), in Universidad de Chile. Based on her background, which adds to high academic achievements, research projects and works in vulnerable areas, she can be defined as a social architect or urban town planner. She carried out the research “Gentrification by mega urban project, the case of Puerto Maravilla in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil” (2014) under the FONDECYT “Rent gap, social agents and planning systems: A case-study analysis of the property-led Gentrification of Santiago de Chile’s inner city area” project. Currently, she conducts the research “Citizen participation and participatory methodologies in urban design processes” (2017). Her most relevant works are: “Master Plan of Portal Lanco” (2008), “Master Plan of the Yungay Quarter”, MINVU (2015-2017) and the “Villa San Jorge Integration Park, commune of Requínoa” (2017). In 2017, she won the national public contest “Prominent Woman in Architecture and Urbanism Award, Marta Scheu Torres”, granted by Universidad Austral de Chile.
