Abstract

The Los Rios Region of Chile has a strong tradition of building with a number of local systems, which have a high level of architectural, social and cultural heritage or traditional techniques.
The research which forms part of the Cultural Heritage Assessment Study of the Los Rios region (Regional Government (GORE) and Universidad Austral de Chile) on 2011, is proposed as a starting point for our study. It represents the status of regional art, based on the concept of cultural heritage established by UNESCO. It proposed the taxonomic grouping of architectural styles for both urban and rural environments whose implementation can be traced in the regional history of the Los Rios region.
