Abstract

The set of water and territory management techniques to make the indigenous communities of northern Chile inhabitable involve a strategic sustainable management approach aimed at maximizing available productive resources. This is an essential condition for the establishment and maintenance in time of human settlements. The case study in the community of Socoroma, in the Chilean Atacama desert, shows the valorization of a water landscape. Its insights and scopes support the development of environmental management strategies and potential valorizations facing future interventions.
