Bilateral perinephic pseudocysts in cats: 2 clinical cases

Abstract

Two cases of perinephric pseudocysts are described in this report. One 1-year-old female cat was presented at the Kansas State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital and a three-year-old male cat was presented at the University of Chile Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Both cats showed unspecific clinical signs. The definitive diagnosis was made by abdominal ultrasound imaging, ultrasound guided fluid aspiration and fluid cytological evaluation. Both patients underwent medical treatment (antibiotics, analgesics, fluids and diet) and after two weeks were controlled in order to detect recurrence. In both cats the clinical resolution was good.
