DETERMINACION PARA CHILE DE HONGOS ENTOMOPATOGENOS DEL GENERO ENTOMOPHTHORA. I

Abstract

Diverse fungi of the genus Entomophthora parasitic on insects were identifica from the chilean provinces of Ñuble and Valdivia. The fungi species are: Entomophthora aphidis Hoffman, E. grylli Fresenius, E. planchoniana Cornu, E. sphaerospermaFresenius and E. thaxteriana (Petch) Hall et Bell.
Entomophthora aphidis, E. planchoniana and E. thaxteriana were parasitic on species of Homoptera, E. sphaerospermaon Lepidoptera and E. grylli on Ortoptera.
Fungi species are described pointing out synonyms, morphological characteristics, spore measuremcnts, symptoms in parasitized insects and their host plants.
