INTRODUCCION DE VARIEDADES DE PAPA (Solamum tuberosum L) A LA ZONA SUR DEL PAIS

Abstract

Eight dutch varieties were maintained in quarantine. In order to get a reference about its inicial perfomance in the field, registred control varieties such as Arka and Sevara were added. The introduced material was in excellent sanitary condition, except for uniformity and vigor. The varieties were classified according to their degree of excellence in the field at harvesting and during storage. The following order indicates good to poor performance: Marijke, Multa, Emergo, Mirka, Cardinal, Saturna, Spunta, Arka T., Sevara T., and Arka. These introduced varieties are the first step towards their regional adaptation in Southern Chile.
